STEEP ROCK | HEAD COACH + YOUTH PROGRAMMING COORDINATOR

We're seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Steep Rock team as a Head Coach and Youth Programing Coordinator. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the development of and implementing a successful Steep Rockers training curriculum
  • Acting as the leading authority on youth training and inquiries and be available to staff, team members, and parents as a resource
  • Running and attending all youth team practices, tryouts, and competitions
  • Communicating and managing expectations with youth team staff members
  • Developing training material for coaches to use as a resource
  • Being involved in the hiring and training of Steep Rockers coaches
  • Maintaining a high level of youth-oriented climbing knowledge and proficiency
  • Upholding the high expectations we hold for our Steep Rock staff
  • Developing and organizing youth-oriented programming
  • Convey a sense of community and build our following

STEEP ROCK | YOUTH TEAM COACH

  • Available to commit to at least two days of MWF coaching sessions
  • Prior experience in youth coaching preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to stay composed in all situations
  • Strong work ethic and detail-oriented

  • Must be available most weekends
  • Prior experience in service, retail, or fitness environment preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

STEEP ROCK | SETTER

We're seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join the Steep Rock team as part-time setters. Setters ensure a pleasant experience for our customers and members while they're on the wall!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Arriving on time and starting work in a timely manner
  • Taking initiative during down-time to organize, clean, and stay focused to ensure the best possible experience for our community
  • Ensuring general maintenance of walls, including tightening and repairing all loose holds, set screwing all required holds, and cleaning all wall surfaces prior to setting
  • Being informed on industry developments
  • Being mindful of setting for all sizes and skill levels
  • Following best practices for work area safety

Qualifications:

  • Driven, strong work ethic, and positive
  • Open to giving and receiving constructive criticism 
  • Prior route-setting experience
  • Great communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to forerun at minimum a V6 level
  • Occasional night and weekend availability for special events
  • Team player
  • Ability to take and follow direction
